Mission

The Lombard Astronomy Society exists to promote the wonder and understanding of astronomy through education, observation, and community engagement. We believe that the night sky belongs to everyone, and we strive to make the universe accessible to all who look up in wonder.

Who We Are

Our diverse membership includes everyone from curious beginners taking their first look through a telescope to seasoned amateur astronomers with decades of experience. We welcome families, students, educators, and anyone fascinated by the night sky.

What We Do

Located in beautiful Lombard, Illinois, we're perfectly positioned to explore both suburban and rural skies. Whether you own a telescope or have never looked through one, whether you're five or ninety-five, the Lombard Astronomy Society invites you to join our cosmic community.

Star Parties

We host regular stargazing events at local parks and dark sky sites, where members share telescopes and knowledge with the community. From Saturn's rings to distant galaxies, we help bring the universe closer to home.

Educational Programs

Join us for engaging presentations by guest speakers, member projects, and discussions about the latest astronomical discoveries. Whether you're interested in black holes or backyard observing, there's something for everyone.
